Wind Turbine Blade Breaks at Björkvattnet Wind Farm, No Injuries Reported
Early morning on Friday the 13th of March, an accident occurred in the wind farm when a blade broke on turbine Björkvattnet 05 (BJV05).
No people were injured in the accident.
The broken part landed at the foot of the wind turbine. A remaining part remains attached to the wind turbine, and no hanging part can be found at the time of the inspection. Personnel located at the wind farm are monitoring the site.
A temporary safety distance around the affected turbine (Björkvattnet 05 – BJV05) of 250 meters must be respected as a precaution for all users of the area. The road leading up to that specific turbine has been blocked temporarily
The root cause analysis has been initiated together with the supplier of the turbines to be able to determine the reason for the failure.
